Education: Alex earned his BS from SUNY Cortland in Physical Education with a concentration in Adult Fitness. Upon graduating, Alex got certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer. His hunger for more education led him to a higher level certification from NASM, adding Integrated Flexibility Specialist to his credentials. Having followed numerous mentors in the industry like Gary Gray, Rodney Corn and Lenny Parracino, Alex continues to push his own education, which is has always been the cornerstone to his success. Alex’s current education has placed his studies in the hands of PTA Global where he is on a quest to become a Master Trainer which will enable Alex to present for the company. This has been a career pursuit for him ever since he stepped foot in the fitness industry.
Training: Alex got his start at The Athletic Club under Director Joe Lozado and General Manager John Heagle. Both would serve to mentor Alex as Joe would cover the science of training and John would constantly teach about the business of fitness. Many of the principles that he learned from them still apply in the industry today. Alex’s next step in his journey would take him to The Gym in Montvale, NJ. Here he would spend the next year and a half dedicating his time to continually developing his skills. It is his time at The Gym that would ignite his passion for sharing his experience in training and educating other trainers. He was involved in creating an In-House Education Program for all the trainers within the facility which had a mission of raising the bar to the expectations of the modern day personal trainer. Feeling unfulfilled, he would soon resign and move to train out of Elite Athletic Performance Institute under friend and mentor Evan Chait. The goal of the facility was to bridge the gap between personal training and physical therapy. Destined to have his own company, he partnered up with friend and “trench-mate” Tommi Paavola to create Discover Movement. The company was defined by their search of education and sharing it with others. In search of brick and mortar, Alex had visions of owning a facility that would serve to house his training style and to allow other trainers the freedom to move their clients in ways that traditional health clubs would not allow. With a minimalist approach to moving clients, the biggest necessity was open space. This would allow variables like gravity, momentum and ground reactions forces to challenge anyone who comes in to the facility. The creation is known as Movements 4 Life.

Education: Tim graduated from SUNY Brockport with a degree in Exercise Physiology. While at school, Tim got certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a certified personal trainer. Upon graduation, he furthered his education and became a National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He began training the students, faculty, staff, and then even the college athletes. Upon graduation, Tim followed his plan and started his dream job at the flagship location of Equinox in Manhattan. Education: Amanda earned her BS from SUNY Oneonta in Psychology. Upon graduating, Amanda realized finding an enjoyable job in the field of psychology was beginning to look like an impossible task. As she put her life-long dream of becoming a psychologist on hold, she briefly considered going back to school for nursing, but M4L provided a way better offer than she could ever imagine. Through the M4L’s Intern and Mentorship, Amanda realized her true calling; by becoming a trainer, this allowed Amanda to achieve her psychology dream, but not by the standard psychologist way, but by being able to change someone’s life for the better through movement. She has successfully completed M4L’s Intern and Mentorship program which includes a Certification in Applied Functional Science and 3D Motion Analysis and Performance Systems.
Training: Amanda was a client for three years at M4L before she became a trainer. With a very helpful mentor, Tim Facciola and a kind of a cool boss, Alex Chemerov, she was able to learn the proper technique of a large variety of exercises. She proud to say she is way stronger than them both combined! They just don’t know it yet.
